Top-ranked Drexel University Now Offers 100 Different Degree Programs Online

Philadelphia, PA, August 30, 2011 –To help illustrate the fact that they now offer more than 100 master’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees and certificate programs, Drexel University Online is launching a new campaign featuring “100 Faces.” Each of the ‘’faces” is either a student or professor whose life has been impacted positively by their association with Drexel.

According to Dr. Ken Hartman, President of Drexel University Online, “Drexel has always been an innovative leader in online learning. By offering more than 100 different online degree programs, we are proactively meeting the needs of our students. Few, if any other, online universities can offer what we do. Especially one with a Tier 1 National ranking by U.S. News & World Report.

In the words of Mark Shay, Sr. VP of Marketing and Business Development at Drexel University Online, “Yesterday’s Bachelor’s degree is today’s Master’s degree. An advanced degree is increasingly required in many fields. I’ve seen estimates that more than half of the jobs today’s collegiate will receive have yet to be invented. This means more people going back to school in all types of fields. Drexel sees this need and is prepared for it.”

The demand for online learning is growing as well, as students become more comfortable with the format. In 2009, the Sloan Consortium found that more than one in four college students were taking at least one course online. The study also found that more than one million new students enrolled in Internet courses.

Jennifer Hogan found Drexel University Online to be a perfect fit for her. One of the “100 Faces of Drexel,” the flexibility and convenience of online courses allowed her to pursue an MS degree in education while living in Japan. Lauren Longo, RN-BSN also attests to the relevance of the Drexel Online degree programs “Soon after I got my degree, I was hired by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to work in the ER department. No doubt about it – my degree from Drexel University Online opened doors for me.” Ken Hartman adds, “What better way to illustrate the range of our degree programs than with the diversity of our student body and faculty.” This people-oriented campaign can be found on Drexel University Online, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and similar social media sites.

Drexel began offering degrees online as an option for students in 1966. As a university with a strong background in technology and research, Drexel University Online’s degree programs are backed with the experience of being a leader in education for more than 115 years. Upon completion of an online program, students receive a diploma from Drexel University, no different from an on-campus student, and are welcome to attend graduation.
